Tania Mendoza

MN, NP-PHC, CDE

Tania is a primary health care nurse practitioner (MN, NP-PHC) by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). She completed her Bachelor of Science - Nursing from the University of New Brunswick. After working as a registered nurse (RN) for 6 years in inpatient care, her drive for continued education led her to earn her Master of Science - Nursing degree with Graduate Diploma for Nurse Practitioners from the University of Ottawa. She also holds a certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE) from the Canadian Diabetes Educator Certification Board.

Her previous clinical work as a diabetes NP at Michael Garron Hospital included managing patients with complex Type 2 diabetes and Type 1 diabetes including insulin pumps, with a focus on individualized, evidence-based care. She has a particular interest in a holistic approach that combines lifestyle modifications and pharmacological therapy to reduce cardiovascular disease risk in people with hypertension, diabetes and chronic kidney disease. She speaks English, French, and Spanish enabling her to serve a diverse patient population.
