Dr. Liam Finlay

MBChB, FRCPC, CHS

Dr. Finlay is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC), certified in Internal Medicine, as well as a clinical hypertension (high blood pressure) specialist with the American Hypertension Specialist Certification Program (AHSCP). He completed his medical schooling in the United Kingdom at the University of St. Andrews and the University of Manchester. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training at McMaster University and since the completion of his training has been working as an internal medicine specialist at Mackenzie Health. Working in the hospital environment, Dr. Finlay came first-hand to understand the true impact of long-term, uncontrolled hypertension in developing cerebrovascular disease (strokes), cardiovascular disease (heart attacks) and kidney failure. He became passionate about taking a preventative approach to his patients’ care through a holistic combination of exercise, dietary recommendations, and medications. He is dedicated to promoting the wellbeing and healthy aging of his patients by managing their hypertension and other cardiovascular risk factors. Outside of medicine, Dr. Finlay is an avid runner and Toronto Raptors fan.
