Dr. Ecaterina Berzan

MD, FRCPC

She started her career in Ireland where she completed her specialist training in General Internal Medicine and Nephrology from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Her main area of research and clinical interest was in the management of pregnancy related hypertensive diseases.  She then went on to complete a fellowship in both General Nephrology and Cardiovascular, Renal, Endocrinology and Metabolic disease (CaRE) at University of Toronto where she trained in managing patients with concomitant diabetes, cardiovascular and renal complications. Since completing her training, Dr Berzan has been working as a Nephrology and Internal Medicine physician at Mackenzie Hospital and an Internal Medicine physician at Markham Stouffvile Hospital.  Throughout her training, both in Ireland and Canada, Dr Berzan has gained extensive clinical experience in managing patients with a large spectrum of kidney diseases. Her focus is to provide integrated care to patients with complex and concomitant cardiac and kidney problems.
